How it works

You tell me what you would like, I come to measure and discuss, provide an estimate and an estimated completion time. If you agree please provide me with a deposit. PLEASE do not order fabric by estimating how much you might need before contacting me: I have an equation for that!

I am an Associate Member of the AMUSF (Association of Master Upholsterers and Soft Furnishers), plus have a more recent Diploma from Master Soft Furnishers and both product and public liability insurance. It is not something I do ‘on the side’, you can rest assured that my work is professional and adheres to the relevant fire regulations.

What I do

I make bespoke soft furnishings: curtains, Roman blinds, smaller upholstery projects, loose covers, table cloths, cushions, bed spreads and surrounds, pelmets and headboards. I can use existing fabric/curtains and make covered battens (a more traditional alternative to Roman blind tracks). I can order all of the materials, many at a discount to the RRP.

What I don’t do

I’m the last in the chain of your project process. I don’t project manage. It’s very important that suitable tracks or poles are installed – happy to advise and supply but I don’t like drilling into your walls. If you require help with installation of hardware, please find a builder/handyman. I’m not an interior designer so the decision on the colour and material of the soft furnishings will have to be your own, again I’m happy to advise. I can’t tell you the composition of a material from a photo, nor the exact colour. I do have an interior design certificate, but really only so I see whether your interior designer’s instructions – should you have engaged one – make sense.

Initial visits and deliveries are free, local and wherever possible done by bicycle and trailer.

I pledge continuous improvement in ethical and sustainable practices, with a focus on learning from experiences and adapting to evolving challenges. 

Traceability and follow-up: the sources of my materials are documented. After delivery, I follow up with my clients to ensure they are happy with the work.
